One of my earliest Land Rover memories is being
collected from Primary School with five or six friends for a birthday party (my ninth or
tenth). We travelled in the back of the family 107" pick-up. Another is going on
holiday in a 109" pick-up but this time with a canvas top to the rear. We three
children bedded down on a mattress in the rear to travel by night.
I passed my Driving Test in an 88" SerIIA Land
Rover. It came to regret being so useful and co-operative when less than a year later I
wrote it off in collision with a stationary truck. I have since driven many thousands of
miles in Land Rovers and a Range Rover mainly towing trailers or caravans. My current
"steed" is the company 110 high capacity pickup. (13/01/03 A 130
Crewcab since July 2002.)
I am married to Dawn and have two children, David who
is 10 and Roxanne who is nearly 4. My hobby is vintage motoring in my De Dion Bouton and
Sunbeam.
