Delivery driver and returns clerk

My job, according to my wife, is to use natural resources to take parts to mend vehicles so that people can get back on the road and use their share of said resources---- delivery driver is shorter! This is generally a straightforward job, with the odd problem when all you have is a house name - as does every house in the street!!! - so a few directions are always  appreciated.

I previously spent many years working for a television company as a telecine and videotape engineer. This usually meant spending many hours in darkened rooms viewing TV screens. It’s good to see daylight more often.

I then spent a brief spell as a driving instructor. It was good fun, the problem being the unsociable hours. It was not as stressful as people imagine since you do have the dual controls to help you out. That’s my story anyway, and besides my hair was grey before I started.

I’ve always had an interest in cars, hence the empty wallet. My first car was an 850 Mini with the registration 680KF - what would that be worth today? My knowledge of the Range Rover comes from helping a friend with his 1973 model. Many years ago he asked me to help him take the engine out - "It’s aluminium so it shouldn't be too heavy" - how trusting I was then, but at least he bought the surgical supports.

It’s an interesting job - so many part numbers- so little memory. So don’t be surprised if I don’t know what the front pads are in an eight wheel Discorangelander with a Merlin engine, but if you do I’ll deliver them to you with pleasure.( I think even Parts, Technical would have fun with that one -Ed)
