I then spent a brief spell as a driving instructor. It
was good fun, the problem being the unsociable hours. It was not as stressful as people
imagine since you do have the dual controls to help you out. Thats my story anyway,
and besides my hair was grey before I started.
Ive always had an interest in cars, hence the
empty wallet. My first car was an 850 Mini with the registration 680KF - what would that
be worth today? My knowledge of the Range Rover comes from helping a friend with his 1973
model. Many years ago he asked me to help him take the engine out - "Its
aluminium so it shouldn't be too heavy" - how trusting I was then, but at least he
bought the surgical supports.
Its an interesting job - so many part numbers- so
little memory. So dont be surprised if I dont know what the front pads are in
an eight wheel Discorangelander with a Merlin engine, but if you do Ill deliver
them to you with pleasure.( I think even Parts, Technical would have fun with that one
